Just As Well

Waves of energy, I don’t push them off
I let the world come to me
And I turn out just the same

Used to, used to, used
To fend off what was bad
What was bad?
I went off of what my mother said

Maybe I’ll be different
This time around
Maybe the shore of life will spit me out better

But I am not better
Or different
I let the world come to me now
And I turn out just the same
