Religion M.I.A
I light candles in place of a lamp
Come in my room, I will light incense
I have set up my own make-shift altar;
I know not to whom I pray
I embrace the trees, flowers in my hair
I long to speak to the Earth
But when She is listening, my mouth goes dry;
I do not know what to say
Religion has shunned me all my life
I make wishes on dandelions, cigarettes, birthday cakes
I wish for kindness, and am met with silence;
I know not to whom I pray
